Accidents Stall traffic on I-20 East for the Second Time in a Week

According to multiple news agencies in the Augusta area, a multi vehicle crash outside of Augusta has stopped all eastbound traffic.  The accident has both eastbound lanes toward Atlanta completely shut down near mile marker 178 in McDuffie County, Georgia.  The Georgia State Patrol is on the scene.  Official say that at least two semi tractor trailers were involved in the accident, which took place around 3:30 p.m.

Authorities have not released information as to the nature of the injuries involved.

There have been numerous other incidents on I-20 in the recent weeks.  On February 4, 2015, two separate incidents occurring within minutes stalled traffic on westbound near the Georgia/South Carolina State Line.  One accident resulted in a vehicle fire and entrapment.  The second accident occurred five minutes later.  No injuries were reported in either of these accidents.
