With more than a decade of legal experience, Melissa Padgett brings a diverse professional background, extensive knowledge, and a genuine passion for helping others to Chris Hudson Law Group.

Melissa’s career journey has taken her from the classroom to the courtroom. A graduate of the University of South Carolina Aiken with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, she spent ten years as an educator before transitioning into the legal profession.

Throughout her legal career, Melissa has gained experience in numerous practice areas, including criminal law, personal injury, medical malpractice, wrongful death, workers’ compensation, Social Security Disability, probate, and family law. Her background includes working in the Solicitor General’s Office and providing hands-on litigation support in State, Superior, and Federal Courts. She has assisted attorneys both before and during trials, including preparing trial materials, organizing evidence, managing exhibits, and providing support throughout courtroom proceedings.

Having developed valuable professional relationships throughout the legal community, Melissa enjoys using her knowledge and connections to help others navigate difficult situations, locate resources, and find the assistance they need. She approaches every interaction with compassion, professionalism, discretion, and a strong commitment to maintaining client confidentiality.

Since joining Chris Hudson Law Group in August 2024, Melissa has served in multiple capacities, including client intake, referral coordination, paralegal support, and case management. She believes everyone deserves to feel heard, respected, and supported, and takes pride in making a positive difference in the lives of those she encounters.

Outside the office, Melissa is a proud mother of four and grandmother of five, who affectionately call her “Sassy.” She enjoys cooking, reading, learning new things, road trips, spending time at the beach, and making memories with her family.
